Floatel needed a more reliable foundation for managing assets across its vessels. Its asset catalogue was incomplete, consequence classification had not been fully implemented and equipment tags were missing or inaccurate. These gaps also created regulatory non-conformances.
PSW developed standard asset hierarchy and catalogue templates for vessel systems, then classified equipment against Floatel’s policies and risk matrix. The work identified 172 main functions and associated sub-functions, creating a consistent basis for future reliability and maintenance decisions.

The asset catalogue grew to more than 30,000 items. PSW assigned IDs and codes, tagged 18,000 items on board and reviewed systems against drawings to reflect their as-built condition. The resulting asset information gave Floatel a stronger basis for managing equipment and prioritising further reliability work.
